Mina's a Hunter, born and raised, but unlike her parents, and specifically her father, she doesn't just kill any supernatural thing that crosses her path, she knows that they aren't all bad, just the same as humans aren't necessarily all good by default.

Her childhood was fairly nomadic, her parents traveled from place to place, picking up odd jobs and protecting people from the evils they couldn't see. Mina, for her part, has always been able to see the critters for what they really are, ever since she was a child, she thought everyone could and didn't learn differently until she was older and her parents had finally settled down for a while, long enough for her to go to high school, trying to give her some semblance at a normal life.

This proved to be a fatal mistake. Finally settling in one place was what allowed a pack of beasts from before Mina was born to find them. Her father was killed in the attack, but Mina and her mother managed to escape, they continued the family business more fiercely than ever to avenge his death and it was about this same time that Mina herself began having doubts that everything they killed deserved it. It was only after her mother's death a year later that she found her doubts to be true.

She's mostly settled down in a small town in Northern California, in the house that she was born in before her parents decided that traveling was the best way to keep the family safe. But she's also been making her own way in the world while still hunting down the things that need it, thanks to the Winnebago that's always been home, office, armory, hospital and library all in one and became hers at the same time the house did.
